Matcha Kotobuki from Teasome. High quality first harvest matcha from certified plantations.Matcha Kotobuki is a classic matcha of very good quality, produced completely without the use of artificial pesticides. It is worth noting that it has been ground just before being shipped from Japan to our warehouse, making it an extremely fresh product.The tencha, or matcha tea leaves before grinding, are of course from the first harvest and were covered with shade mats for about 22 days before harvesting. Its taste qualities are further enhanced by the volcanic soils on which the bushes grow. Oolong tea by Teasome. Jin Xuan, aka Golden Lily, is simply the translation of one of Taiwan’s most famous cultivars (numbered #12 in Taiwan). It is often coincidentally connected with Milk Oolong; a name we also had called it - however, it is absolutely not flavoured with milk! Green tea by Teasome. Jasmine Green is the most common high quality jasmine tea. It is the first spring leaves of a young Guangxi green tea with the powerful aroma of jasmine flowers. The natural process of flavouring this tea lies in spacing the leaves on a wide bamboo tray and arranging them in alternating vertical stacks with trays full of freshly cut jasmine buds. During the night, the flowers open up and release their aroma, which enters into the tea. The following day they are replaced with new buds. Our Jasmine Green were flavoured this way as many as 3 times!However, the main aspect of jasmine tea is not just the natural flavouring process, but the leaves themselves. Our tea’s leaves are from a high-altitude ao Feng green tea, which has a gentle, fresh taste. Yogi Masala is the best spice blend for the famous Indian chai masala that we have managed to find on the market. It is based on warming spices, skillfully complemented by fennel and orange peel. The blend contains cut spices rather than ground powder, which allows them to retain their freshness much longer and keeps their flavor from becoming dull or “faded,” as is often the case with ready-made mixes. Amber Heart is a fermented shu pu-erh tea (ripe), where the typical earthiness is complemented by an unusual sweetness. The infusion is smooth and warming, with notes of wood and warming spices. Unlike “raw” sheng pu-erh, shu pu-erh is free of bitterness and gentle on the stomach. We named it Amber Heart because of the dark golden color of the infusion and the unusual shape of the leaves: small nuggets formed like hearts. This type of tea is known in China as Lao Cha Tou.During the production of shu pu-erh, the leaves are piled into heaps and sprayed with water to provide additional moisture that accelerates fermentation. Lao Cha Tou comes from the very bottom of these piles, where fermentation takes place in the highest humidity. Olong GABA tea by Teasome. GABA teas are the result of a successful experiment with tea. Developed in the 1980s in Japan, they were designed to naturally produce the highest levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which has proven to have a beneficial effect on our nervous system. Some time later, it appeared that Taiwanese oolongs produced using this method tasted very delicious. An incidental, yet pleasant side-effect, right?The whole trick consists of anaerobic processing of freshly picked leaves, and then continuing the standard tea production process as normal. Matcha Aoba is a tea we are especially proud of. It is a classic, high-quality first-harvest matcha, produced entirely without the use of synthetic plant protection products. It comes from the very birthplace of matcha, Kyoto Prefecture. It is also worth noting that it was ground just before being shipped from Japan to our warehouse, making it an exceptionally fresh product. Tencha, meaning the tea leaves used for matcha before grinding, comes from the first harvest and was shaded with covering mats for over three weeks prior to picking. Its flavor profile is further enhanced by the volcanic soils in which the tea bushes are grown. Green tea by Teasome. Hojicha is a Japanese green tea that is produced in an unusual manner - it contains not only tea leaves, but primarily of chopped up roasted stems. The result is a tea with an original flavour that is reminiscent of freshly baked brown bread.The majority of hojicha on the western market is finely cut and strongly roasted. We, on the other hand, wanted to present you with something unique - a hojicha with long, lovely stems, subjected to a lighter sand roasting. This method goes back to the Edo period (17th - 19th centuries).The stems come from a spring harvest (sencha), whereas the leaves were from a second harvest (bancha).
