The burr is extremely precise, created using a high-alloyed, high-nitrogen stainless steel with a fine martensitic micro-crystal matrix.The burr material and design are the proud result of years of dedicated research and development at Comandante®’s onsite coffee lab. Burr Geometry has been optimised to achieve excellent Bean Thruput with a reduced Crank Torque and at the same time deliver a refined Particle Size Distribution for best brewing results. Grind Adjustment Comandante C60 Baracuda is equipped with the new GX50 Gold Clix adjustment, which ensures exceptional precision and a multitude of grind settings. Comandante click system gives you full control for any brewing method and locks your preferred grind setting into place, helping you get the very best out of your roasted coffee and repeat the results again and again. With it you can brew delicious coffee across the full range of brew methods, from coarse settings for filter coffee down to super-fine settings for espresso and cezve/ibrik. The fine GX50 thread of the Gold Clix drivetrain system allows for super fine adjustments of grind setting. With a vertical burr pitch of 41.6μm per click, the resulting change to your target particle size is around 21μm per click setting.   Design Comandante C60 Baracuda is also a new body design. Stainless steel is the right choice to build a robust and food safe coffee grinder. Here you get a new unibody construction, milled and crafted out of a single block of steel, for absolute stability and maximum drivetrain efficiency. It was created using  processes normally reserved for high-performance motor parts. The result is a bold and clear-cut design that perfectly supports the function. The body is made of stainless steel with powder coating finish.   Comandante also uses BPA-free high-performance polymers that meet the strictest food-safety standards. These materials are engineered to endure years of heavy use. Each grinder contains two jars for ground coffee: made of a clear and pink polymer. They are easy to clean and can hold approximately 40g of coffee.  Comandante loves natural wood too. The solid oak handles, produced by friends in Germany’s Black Forest, are both wonderfully ergonomic and beautiful to look at thanks to oak’s unique grain structure. The C60 Baracuda is equipped with an XL crank with a Big Joe knob that make grinding even smoother. The grinding adjustment knob is made of brass. Comandante products do not contain aluminum. Timemore Sculptor 078S is an automatic coffee grinder designed for espresso and pour-over brewing methods. The grinder is designed and built with attention to every detail - it is aesthetic and made of durable materials, with its heart being a steel burr. The Sculptor 078S is also functional - it offers convenient and precise grinding adjustment, as well as motor speed adjustment. BURR AND GRINDING ADJUSTMENT The Timemore Sculptor 078S is equipped with 78 mm diameter steel flat burrs. The burrs in the S version are suitable for fine grinding required for, and at the same time provide high uniformity for pour over. The particle size distribution of the ground coffee mainly ranges from 400 to 800 μm, ensuring exceptionally consistent grinding. Grind thickness adjustment is convenient and quick - it is done by turning the dial located on the front. The dial is clearly marked with 36 steps, and the setting is stepless. MOTOR The Timemore Sculptor 078S is equipped with a brushless motor with PID control and Hall components, that can only be found in products from reputable brands. Compared to brushed motors, brushless motors rotate without contacting the stator, therefore characterized by zero friction, resulting in longer lifespan and more stable operation (no shaking during operation). Another unique feature of the grinder is the motor speed adjustment - it can be adjusted in the range of 800 to 1400 RPM (revolutions per minute). CONSTRUCTION The housing of the Timemore Sculptor 078S grinder is made of sleek aluminum, with dimensions of 29.4 cm height x 11.8 cm width x 26.1 cm depth, making it an elegant device with a small footprint. The hopper can hold 45 - 50 grams of beans. The hopper cover is magnetically attached - simply slide it halfway onto the hopper, and the cover will snap into place. The container for ground coffee is also magnetic, making it easy to centre it smoothly and accurately. The grinder features a patented rotary knocker for cleaning the chute from coffee fines, minimizing retention. This ensures that ground coffee does not remain in the grinder between each grinding session. Each grinder is tested by the manufacturer before packaging - therefore, you may find coffee residues on the grinding mechanism components.
